Joseph R. Cajas III is the Founder and CEO of The Cajas Digital Agency. With over 23 years of proven experience in the automotive industry across all manufacturers, Joseph has worked closely with some of the largest and most salient automotive companies in the nation making him one of the most prominent industry experts in his field.

Joseph is a Texas native of the city of San Antonio, Texas, where he began his career in 1996 as a sales associate for Red McCombs Ford. From the very beginning of Joseph’s professional career, he learned the importance of having a strong work ethic and the need to consistently evolve in his roles to strategically stay ahead of the curve. As such, in 1998, Joseph was promoted and relocated to Austin, Texas to manage his first sales team at Hendricks GMC on IH 35 which was owned and operated by Red McCombs Automotive. During this time, the Austin locations of Red McCombs Automotive were purchased by AutoNation USA the largest automotive dealer group in the country, where Joseph was quickly promoted to the Sales Director for AutoNation Chevrolet at the early young age of 24. As the New Vehicle Director, Joseph led a team of 45 Sales Managers and Sales Associates focused on high projection growth KPIs, continued team development that resulted in market leading gains to the bottom-line projections. Joseph’s continued success at AutoNation landed him the role of General Sales Manager, where he implemented a strategic marketing plan evolving their traditional and digital marketing presence, driving high quality traffic leads that led to successful market growth, process improvement and employee training and retention metrics.

In 2007, Joseph was recruited and hired by Cox Automotive as a local Dealer Consultant that focused on managing C Suite-level relationships for major dealer groups across the country that included AutoNation, Drivetime/Carvana, CarMax, Penske Automotive Group, Group 1, Berkshire Hathaway, Koons Automotive, Lithia, Hendrix, and Sonic Automotive to name some. After only one year, Joseph was promoted to the Major Accounts Director and was responsible for leading a national sales team, where he managed $92 million in annual revenue. In this role he was able to invest the time needed to cultivate relationships with professional and dynamic C-Suite executives across the largest dealer groups and across the industry. Covering major markets across the U.S., Joseph established strategic relationships with industry partners and continues to cultivate those relationships.

After 10 years and fueled with the knowledge and passion to start his own strategic consulting and marketing agency, in 2016 The Cajas Digital Agency was created, with the strong focus to offer dealer partners the ability to have an agency that understood all the ins and outs of the automotive industry from the internal and digital perspective.

The Cajas Digital Agency successfully manages over $18 million per year in advertising spend and manages relationships with over 25 vendors, including Cox Automotive, Autotrader.com, Kelley Blue Book, Facebook, Google PPC, Google Analytics, Dealer.com, TrueCar, CarGurus, Cars.com and many more. Current clients include the 2nd largest local employer in Central Texas The Covert Auto Group which owns the #1 Ford leader for over 25 years in the Central Texas, Covert Ford, also included in current clients are Covert Chevrolet Hutto, Covert Chevrolet Buick GMC of Bastrop, Covert Buick GMC Austin, Covert Chrysler Jeep Dodge, Covert Cadillac, Covert Lincoln, ValMark Chevrolet of New Braunfels.

Joseph currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GAHCC), Executive Board Member for the GAHCC Foundation, Committee member of the Central Texas Reopening Task Force, Chair of the GAHCC Economic Development Committee and the Foundation’s Annual Golf Tournament Chair. Joseph also serves as a member of the Executive Dealer Advisory Council for CarGurus.

Joseph’s main driving force is his family, he is the proud father of his two sons Carson and Nicolas who attend Hyde Park Schools and a loving husband to his wife Maya.
